When I make a gangster movie, it will feature Muslim and Hindu extremists. The Hindus will wear saffron and the Muslims will flaunt smudgy eye make-up. There will be riots too and a tranny whore, a corrupt cop who swings both ways (between the two rival gangs), etc. This was probably director Ankush Bhatt's vision before he planned to make Bhindi Bazaar Inc.
Okay, to break this film down to a line: It's about a chess game, wherein every move is vaguely metaphoric and hence intercut with a pointless story from the lives of our two lead slum dogs, Darzi (Gautam Sharma) and Fateh (Prashant Narayan). These two are children when they're inducted into the world of pick-pocketing and kite-flying (yes, the two are very connected!).
After picking roughly 550 wallets each, they grow up to become capable henchmen for Mamu (Pawan Malhotra), a local ganglord. Mamu has a mami - Bano (Deepti Naval), many nameless henchmen and a mistress, Shabana (Vedita Pratap Singh), who only sleeps with about 14 men in this movie and with some in the audience. Mamu also has an arch-enemy, an extremist Hindu, Pandey (Piyush Mishra) who had his fingers chopped-off by Mamu himself in a non-sepia flashback. Needless to say, Pandey and gang make several attempts to avenge this and Mamu's men don't let the action choreographer snooze on the sets either.
If you care, the chess game is being played between Shroff (Kay Kay Menon) and Darzi. The former responds to every move made by the latter with raised eye-brows and a bedazzled expression. The conversation between the two is, well, idiotically insightful with dialogues like, "Zindagi mein pata nahin chalta, kaunse mohre kale hain, aur kaunse safed." And they're not even drinking in this scene!
The movie prances about like a headless chicken with predictable internal conspiracies that can be briefly conveyed in this dialogue, 'Ek Mamu mara, toh doosra bana'. We also have a list of cast members who're often forgotten or not informed about the shoot location. They stroll in and out of scenes, without a definite purpose. Kajri (Shilpa Shukla) leads this pack, looking like a mare with a nose ring, hanging with the Mamu clan, hoping for a love angle and dialogues (and perhaps a 'Chak De!' sequel?). Then there's Darzi's love interest, Simran (Shweta Varma) who manages 95 % of her scenes in a public bus, limiting her relationship prospects to frivolous conversation. But the most bizarre and barely-there award goes to Jackie Shroff who plays a narcotics cop. His shots seem to be taken through candid camera, as he aimlessly lurks into the frame, mumbles lines that can't be interpreted and sways his bloated self for a quick exit.
The film's overall production quality is comparable to that of regional reality TV and the background score is solely there to hold up feeble dialogues. What is more upsetting is that veteran actors such as Deepti Naval seem to be wasted and even dependable talent such as Pawan Malhotra and Kay Kay Menon can't save this Titanic.
Making films that unearth the filth and grime of our beloved Metropolis, Mumbai, is no longer a safe bet. Not, if they're stuffed with clichés and dialogues that remind you of the back of trucks, like this one.

No One Killed Jessica is an upcoming Hindi film starring Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan, produced by UTV Spotboy and directed by Rajkumar Gupta, who had earlier directed the acclaimed film Aamir (2008).
The film will have music by Amit Trivedi, who earlier gave music in Dev D (2009). Vidya Balan plays the character of Jessica’s elder sister, Sabrina Lal, Rani is set to play a reporter.

Though the film had a lot of controversy surrounding it,The film has passed censoring with an A certificate and with no cuts at all.The film is based on the real life story of Jessica Lal who was killed by Manu Sharma at a Night club.The film stars Vidya Balan and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles.Vidya plays the role of Jessica's sister Sabrina lal and Rani Mukherjee plays a crime tv reporter a very strong and determined woman.The film is directed by Rajkumar Gupta and is all set for a January 7 release.The film has been creating a lot of buzz since the trailer was released and we hope it lives up to the hype.

However, later, the director clarified that the title and the script are actually inspired by a headline carried out by The Times Of India in 2006, when the accused in the infamous murder case were acquitted by the lower courts, leading to nationwide protests, reopening of the case and subsequent sentencing of the accused, and not the case per se.

Storyline:

Khogiram (Atul Kulkarni), his wife (Rituparna Sengupta) and their kids Pinu (Darsheel) and Rimzim (Zia) belong to a terrorist dominated region. Khogiram and Ritu have a hand-to-mouth income working for a tea plantation and can barely manage things. The kids are affected by this as well. They go to a respectable school as it is Khogiram's ambition to give them the educational opportunities he missed. But the financial crunch makes it difficult for kids to match the standards of the school. They don't have enough money for uniform or shoes. Things become worse when Pinu misplaces Rimzim's only pair of shoes in the vegetable shop!

Rimzim can't go to school without her shoes. They work out a scheme where both of them share the same shoes. However, Pinu always gets into trouble at school waiting for Rimzim to give him the shoes. He comes to know of the Interschool Marathon where one of the prizes is a pair of shoes. Pinu plans to run for it and win the shoes for Rimzim.

Will Pinu be able to win the shoes for his kid sister and avert his fathers' anger? Will god smile at Pinu and bring an end to his troubles? How long will this dark stretch last for Khogiram's family?

Kites is a forthcoming Bollywood film directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Rakesh Roshan that will star Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut, Kabir Bedi and Luce Rains. It has been a long time since we got to see Hrithik Roshan on screen. Except for his special appearances in 'Krazzy 4' and 'Luck By Chance', it has been over one and a half years since we had a sight of the hot dude. Bringing an end to this long wait is Hrithik's latest movie 'Kites'. Produced by Rakesh Roshan and directed by Anurag Basu, it is slated for October 2009 release, under the banner 'Film Kraft Production'. Rajesh Roshan is its music director. The star cast of the movie includes Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangna Ranaut, Kabir Bedi, Anand Tiwari, Luce Rains, Nicholas Brown and Cecilia Chavez.

The story of 'Kites' revolves around an Indian boy, Jay (Hrithik Roshan). He is a salsa teacher in Las Vegas and one fine day, a Latina girl Natasha (Barbara Mori) comes to learn salsa from him. Even though the two don't seem to understand each other's language, Jay speaks Hindi and English, while Natasha speaks only Spanish; the two manage to communicate with each other and end up falling in love. However, their happiness is not meant to last long. A twist in the tale takes place and the two get separated from each other. This is where Gia (Kangana Ranaut) steps in, a rich girl who comes to learn salsa from Jay.

Some time later, we see Jay as a man who has been severely injured and left to die in the ruthless terrain of Mexican desert. From a street smart, charismatic and lighthearted guy, he has turned into a 'wanted' man. There is only one thing that keeps him alive - his determination to find Natasha, the love of his life who is now engaged to another man. However, Jay knows that she is destined for him only and he can endure any and every atrocity, for the sake of his love. Plot

Ravana, the magnum project is a culmination of award winning director Mani Ratnam whose name is nothing less than an epitome of class in Indian cinema and A.R. Meanwhile Ravana movie trailer has been released and it is a 40 seconds trailer showing Abhishek dive from top of a cliff into a river and then riding a bike with a petrified Aishwarya Rai behind him. Ravana the movie will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Written by Mani Ratnam himself the story promises to be one of its kinds. The film is a big budget bonanza with beautiful songs written by Gulzar Sahab and well composed by A.R. Rehman.

The audio of the film Ravana will be released on 24th April and the rights have been bought by T-Series for the same. The film promos will be available on YouTube. The airing of songs on radio channels is due to start form 23rd April. The die hard Ash-Abhi fans or we can say Mani-Rehman fans get to see Ravana in theatres on 18th June. Till then let us satisfy our senses with this teaser of Ravana released now.

The story begins with a new English Teacher Rahul Prakash Udyavar (Shahid Kapoor) joining Swaraswati Vidya Mandir school, situated in the outskirts of Mumbai Suburbs. Though he strikes instant rapport with students and teachers alike, he realizes that there is something amiss in the school.

Slowly his doubts prove true as the School Manager - Sharma (Saurabh Shukla) makes many monetary obligations compulsory on the parents in the name of extracurricular activities. He goes to the extent of punishing the students inhumanly when the new unjustified demands of the school are not fulfilled by the parents.

When Rahul Udyawar unifies the teachers (Ayesha Takia, Sushant Singh, Kurush Deboo) against the atrocities of school management, the Principal Aditya Sahay (Nana Patekar) defends the management decision. This comes as a shocker to the teachers.

The situation becomes graver as school management becomes overambitious with its growth and involves media planners in the extracurricular activities. This demands the involvement of students in TV reality shows and many other media PR activities. The pressure on young minds increases incredibly leading to unexpected and grim consequences.

Caught in the web of commercialization and internal rebellion, the school's situation becomes so explosive that it finally becomes a national issue.

‘Paathshaala’ tries to answer many questions related to the sanctity of today’s education system. It claims to be an urgent and desperate eye-opening mission for our education system today.

Synopsis :

Cinema within cinema has always fascinated filmmakers all across the globe. The film industry of each country has characteristics peculiar to their culture. That is what distinguishes them, makes them intriguing and anecdotes associated with each industry in a specific cultural context naturally lend themselves to interesting tales. The story of Baby Kusum is such an intriguing and horrifying tale. It is a story about life imitating art in a grotesque and bizarre way. This film seeks to probe into the mechanism that operates behind the creation of dreams. It highlights a phenomenon that was peculiar and exclusive to the Indian film industry - the practise of casting children in roles opposite to their natural genders. We have had many instances of young girls being cast as boys in films and vice versa. Their screen names used to be changed to suit the gender they were playing on screen. Interestingly, in Raja Harishchandra, the first narrative film made in India, a man portrayed the heroine’s role. It was a common practice in Indian theatre till the middle half of the last century, to cast men in women’s roles. In cinema however, verisimilitude was sought to a greater degree and hence the entire persona of the performer had to be changed to suit the screen image. It is difficult to ascertain gender of children by their appearance. Their clothes and hairdos often demarcate them. So the practice of casting perky kids, who could deliver effortless performances, in roles that were not representing their own gender, was widely practiced in Indian films. This film purports to delve into the psyche of one such person who was forced to assume a gender role other than his natural gender and analyses the disastrous consequences that follow and destroy him in his adulthood. Baby Kusum is the story of a boy burdened with a sexual identity not his own. It is about the brutality of a society that imposes superficial gender codes. It is a story of human suffering and about the tragedy of human predicament. The film tries to explore the complex maze of relationships: the Oedipal, the homosexual, the exploitative. It tears that veil of shame that covers the face of this glamorous profession. Truth stares naked at the face of an audience bred on and allured by the sham of this life. Baby Kusum explores various spaces--- the real space, the mind space, the sexual space and the spiritual space. All stand juxtaposed together and often are intermingled to create panoply of gore and blood, of intensity and brutality, of love and shame. Cinematically it confronts the time space continuum. It conjures and jumbles up the time past, the time present and the time operative, all together within the same mental space. It creates a delusion. It provokes and raises several pertinent questions. But it never ignores basic human emotions. That is where it becomes a moral fable, a pious tale. That is where it connects to the common man.

SYNOPSIS: ROAD, MOVIE (HINDI) Review

Vishnu (Abhay Deol), a restless young man, itches to escape his father’s faltering hair oil business.

An old truck beckons, which Vishnu sees as his ticket to freedom. He offers to drive the antique Chevy across the desert to the sea, where it has been sold to a local museum. As he sets off across the harsh terrain of desert India, he discovers he’s not merely transporting a battered vehicle but an old touring cinema.

Along the way, Vishnu reluctantly picks up a young runaway (Mohammed Faizal Usmani), a wandering old entertainer (Satish Kaushik) and a striking gypsy woman (Tannishtha Chatterjee – Brick Lane). Together they roam the barren land, searching for water and an elusive fair. The journey turns dire when they are waylaid by corrupt cops and a notorious waterlord.

The key to their freedom is the eccentric collection of films and the two forty-year-old film projectors in the back of the truck. As in 1001 Nights, if the films are good, they live and move on. If the films are boring, they face death in the outback.

The journey proves transformative for each of the travelers, but especially for Vishnu who discovers life, love and laughter on the Indian highway.

Produced by the US-based Ross Katz and Susan B. Landau, and presented by The Indian Film Company and Studio 18, the script of the Dev Benegal-directed feature was an official selection at L’Atelier du Cannes in 2006. Road, Movie (in Hindi) is India’s first breakthrough feature at TIFF’09 – an official selection that will have a world premiere at The Winter Garden Theatre on September 18.

Toh Baat Pakki is a 2010 Hindi romantic comedy film directed by Kedar Shinde. The film, produced by Ramesh S Taurani under Tips Music Films, stars Tabu, Sharman Joshi, Vatsal Seth, Yuvika Chaudhary and Ayub Khan in the lead roles. The movie marked the directorial debut of a Marathi filmmaker, Kedar Shinde.

The film tells the story of a middle class woman in search for a match for her sister. She happens to meet two matches and lands up in a dilemma to chose one. The woman and her sister have different choices. The rest of the film reveals the hilarious chaos created.

The film was released on 19 February 2010.

Plot

This is a story about a middle class clever woman Rajshree (Tabu) who wants to get her sister married to a rich, successful boy. She happens to meet Rahul (Joshi) while grocery shopping. He is studying to be an engineer and is a Saxena. Grabbing the opportunity, she offers him a room in her house. There, Rahul chances to meet Nisha, Rajshree's sister. They fall in love,(pushed by Rajshree) and Rahul agrees to marry Nisha. The wedding celebrations are in full swing, when Yuvraj happens to come to Rajshree's house. He has a permanent job and would be getting a house next month. And he is also a Saxena. Upon seeing a better choice of groom for her sister, she tricks Rahul to vacate the room. Yuvi starts staying in the now empty room. He meets nisha and falls in love.. Now, the wedding plans have altered slightly. The groom has changed. Rahul finds out about this from Nisha and plans to outwit Rajshree at her own game.

Veer Movie Review

Salman Khan in a period film?!! I won't deny I was a bit apprehensive about how Veer would turn up to be. Yes, from the look and feel it did look like a period film, but fifteen minutes into the film, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying the plot as we saw cannons roar, swords clash and men on galloping horses slaying one another on the battlefield.

Set in the times when the British were colonising India, Veer is a tale of bravery, treachery and love rolled into one. As the British enslave India with their shrewd 'Divide and Rule' policy, kings and nawabs fall to their guile and entrust their kingdom to them, one of them being Jackie Shroff, the Raja of Madhavgarh. He cheats the Pindaris, a fighter tribe from Rajputana, to please the British and loses his right hand to Prithvi Singh (Mithun Chakraborty).

Prithvi, one of the proud heads of the Pindaris, swears to return and kill every white man and the Raja to avenge the deception that cost his tribe, their land and their reputation. The vile Raja of Madhavpur too harbours a similar intention behind his cool demeanour. But as fate would have it, little did he realise that one day his daughter Jashodhara (Zarine Khan) would fall in love with the bravest of them all,Veer.

Now Veer not only takes on the British rulers, he also has to fight the cunning Raja of Madhavgarh. But then he has fallen head-over-heels in love Jasho and has killed her brother (Puru Raj Kumar) too. Will he succeed or won't he is for you to figure out.

Salman seemed to be back in form. He has lost more weight this time and looked better than in Wanted. It felt good to see him dancing gracefully and emoting right at the same time, maybe because Salman himself has invested a lot in terms of story as well.

The discussion would be incomplete if we don't talk about his action sequences and his dialogues. As in Wanted, here too he has a few punch lines kept aside for his fans. Sample this: Ek bar leta hoon toh paanch ser gosht le ke hi chhodta hoon. If this was not all he goes on to prove it by actually killing a rebel Pindari with his bare hands by scooping out his flesh. And guess what he comes up with? 'Tol lena, paanch ser se zyada hi hoga." Woof!!

Salman even tries to do a Phool Aur Kaante stunt a la Ajay Devgan but of course on horses instead of two bikes. It wouldn't be wrong to say it's Salman's film all the way but one person who actually stole the thunder with his fantastic support was Mithun Chakraborty. Expectations grew and sparks flew every time Mithun appeared on screen. Watching him was sheer delight. Also the chemistry the two of them portray as father and son is commendable.

But then one can't turn a blind eye to the flaws in the film, right?

We wonder what exactly were the two of them - Puru Raj Kumar and Aryan Vaid doing in the film.

Sadly, Sohail Khan as Punya was no different than in any of his other films. He just tries to be funny. Loyal to the core, he plays Veer's younger brother who follows him around like a shadow and he loves to flirt, that is when he is not fighting enemies. The scene where he romances a firang girl on the branch of a tree is hilarious.

As for the female counterparts, Neena Gupta as Mithun's wife looked the part. But the heroine, Zarine Khan (allegedly a Katrina lookalike) is far from resembling Kat with her chubby features. No doubt she has a pretty face but wears the same expression throughoutthe film (boring!). She urgently needs to shed those extra pounds to bag another film.

Anil Sharma's contribution as a director was probably till the time he brought the actors together. Though there was no dearth of grandeur, the cinematography is decent - especially the scenes shot in the palaces and forts - the special effects look tacky.

Sharma has paid no attention to maintain the continuity in Salman's hairstyle, which keeps changing every now and then. One may argue it was required for the different getups he seeks to befool his enemies, but then the locks can't grow back so fast. Can they?

But who cares as long as we have Salman Khan on the screen. The film runs on a more-or-less constant pace. The action scenes certainly make you watch it till the end.

VERDICT: The film may get a good opening at single screens because of Salman's popularity. I would go with 2/5 for the film and 1 for Sallu-Mithun chemistry.

Chance Pe Dance - Movie Review

When it comes to shaking his shanks, Shahid Kapoor is not a lallu but a lulu. With what nimbleness he wiggles his butt, sways his brawny bod, twirls his pelvis, and virtually wriggles his anatomy into a perpetual tangle and untangle of limbs - like poetry in motion. Pity that his dancing skill be showcased in a movie as plot-holed, disjointed, cheesy and predictable as Ken Ghosh’s Chance Pe Dance. Primarily a story of a struggler who comes to Mumbai with Bollywood dreams in his head, the film is a study in plot digressions. At whim it veers into tacky subplots that do little, if not nothing, to further the story. It keeps flitting from the shabby insides of the protagonist’s run-down Maruti Suzuki 800, into the lavatories and dance halls of a school, and from there to producers’ offices and dance competitions before crawling to its underwhelming climax, but not without a de tour to an MCD demolished Delhi. It’s like the writers stitched together different skits to come up with something that has the semblance of a story. And with his good friend Shahid Kapoor at his disposal, director Ken Ghosh presumably thought that the actor’s post-Kaminey charisma, plus his dimpled smile, bulgy biceps and nifty footwork would gloss over the blotches. Nah! They don’t. ‘Chance Pe Dance’ starts off as the story of a struggling actor Samir (Shahid Kapoor) who works as a courier boy when not knocking on producer’s doors or shaking his jelly feet to impress film directors at discotheques. Luckily by chance, one hotshot director (Mohnish Behl) spots him and promises him a break in his movie. Alongside, Samir befriends and later falls in love with Tina (Genelia D'Souza), a cute, bubbly, scooter-riding stunner who’s the choreographer of Samir’s debut film. But not all is well for our hero. He gets kicked out of his rented apartment and has no money to rent another place. So, he starts living inside his car and takes up the job of a dance teacher in a school, making the nanhe, naughty taare gyrate zameen par. Things get further worse when Samir gets booted out of his debut film after the producers decide to find a hero through a nationwide talent hunt contest. Now, even as Samir teaches dance to school kids, he has just one option to take his shot at stardom - participate in the contest. But there’s another tragedy waiting to happen. Keeping throughout the pretense of a triumph-of-the-spirit tale, ‘Chance Pe Dance’ slips into overtly sentimental drama more often than not. After being kicked out of the movie, the protagonist sheds a tear and breaks into an emotional harangue about his unending woes even though his beautiful squeeze Tina sits beside him not knowing what to do or say, just like the viewers. Shahid Kapoor definitely ought to steer clear of mushy melodramas. Doubtlessly he’s a good dancer and an above-average actor, but he can’t for his life internalize the plight of a struggler in ‘Chance Pe Dance’. Genelia looks terrific and is pretty comfortable in the skin of her charming, teeny bopper of a character. Mohnish Behl is good as the fidgety director, while Pariskshit Sahni gets just two-three scenes as the hapless, hardworking pa of the hero back in Delhi. The music (Adnan Sami) is not peppy enough for footfalls to set the dance floor quaking. The choreography (Ahmed Khan, Marty Kudelka) is excellent and cinematography good, even though the editor does seem to have slept at times while doing his job. Just Shahid’s dance, Genelia’s smile, and capers of a few perky kids don’t make a movie. My advice - skip this chance. Rating: 3/10

Ram Gopal Varma has roped in a huge ensemble cast for his up coming next, Rann. Apart from signing his favourite actor, Amitabh Bachchan to play a pivotal role, the maverick filmmaker has also got in Riteish Deshmukh, Sudeep (hero of Phoonk) Gul Panag and Paresh Rawal to play important parts. Manisha Koirala too gets a new lease of life in Bollywood as Ramu has cast her too in his film. She is back to Ramu camp after almost six years gap since Company (2006).

“When News Channels, Political parties and Industrial czars are the principal movers and shakers in a film, there is obviously a tremendous scope for high drama. This is not so much my conscious intention as the director of the film, but the very demand of the subject matter. Having said that, even the so-called high profile people at the end of the day are, ‘people’. And no matter how powerful they are, they are not without their share of insecurities, egos, jealousies, and dilemmas.” states Ramu in his blog about Rann.

Explaining in details each and every cast member of his film, Ramu states - I really enjoyed the process of casting for the incredibly exciting and thrilling characters of Rann.

Sudeep as Jay Malik - A go-getter and highly aggressive and ambitious son of Harshvardhan Malik, Jay looks at his Dad’s news channel purely as a business enterprise that must make profits to justify its existence. He hates that his competition is doing better than him. Manisha Koirala Nalini Kashyap - She is the programming head of Harshvardhan Malik’s news channel, INDIA 24/7. Having been in the industry for long enough, she has developed a practical view of how things operate here. And this comes in direct conflict with what her boss Harshvardhan Malik, thinks. Juggling the cut-throat world outside with the idealistic universe of her boss, Nalini Kashyap has her job cut out.

Paresh Rawal as Mohan Pandey - It is every politician’s dream to become the Prime Minister of his country. To that extent, the leader of the opposition Mohan Pandey is no different from his contemporaries. The only difference being - if the need arises, Pandey can and will kill to get the coveted chair.

Gul Panag as Nandita Sharma - The assistant of an ad filmmaker, Nandita Sharma someday hopes to bag an independent feature film. She is in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend Purab. Nandita is smart, educated, and intelligent. She is also highly indifferent to what’s happening in the country, and first thinks about herself and her man, before anything or anybody else. On both counts, she represents the youth of India.

Mohnish Behl as Amrish Kakkar - He was the first to have the VISION and the foresight to realize that even the business of delivering NEWS can be made ENTERTAINING. Amrish therefore can be safely held singularly responsible for taking the television news industry to the dogs, or to the heights, depending on how you see it. His channel is no less than a shady brothel, the content that is NEWS is no less than a cheap hooker, and Amrish Kakkar - the most powerful pimp around.

Rajat Kapoor as Naveen Shankalya - Apart from being the son-in-law of Harshvardhan Malik, is also one of the topmost industrialists of the country. Despite this, he is the most insecure man on earth, and won’t rest till he becomes the number one industrialist in the country. His best buddy Mohan Pandey becoming the Prime Minister of India will surely help his cause.

Raima Sen as Yasmin Hussain - An ex-model, and fiancée of Jay Malik, Yasmin watches TV, reads gossip columns, and for most part, takes everything that is dished out to her, AT FACE VALUE. She does not understand the intricacies of power games, and hidden motivations behind actions of people. The resources at her disposal to know what is true and what is not, are limited. She is not innocent, and she is not clever either. Yasmin therefore epitomizes the ‘common man’.

Rajpal Yadav as Anand Prakash Trivedi - A creative editor, Anand Prakash Trivedi has a knack for sensationalizing even the driest story and making it sound like the story of the decade with super catchy headlines. More than any filmmaker, he makes far better movies. Only, he calls them NEWS.

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year

Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) is an aspiring salesman working in a computer firm called AYS (At Your Service). His boss insults and sidelines him when his refusal to bribe a customer costs the company dear. Boss's anger results in extra workload for Harpreet's colleagues and they vent their frustration by throwing paper rockets at him at work.

Another dissatisfied worker at office Koena (Gauhar Khan) gives him a sales opening. Soon Harpreet is running a parallel business in the name of Rocket Sales Corporation using other dissatisfied employees of the company. He has pangs of conscience about misusing the company's facilities, and once decides to tell all to the boss, but drops the idea when the boss insults him severely.

Rocket Sales Corporation is soon doing well with Harpreet, Koena, Chhote Lal Mishra the office peon and Giri the service engineer. They are discovered by the sales manager Nitin Rathore, but he too joins them. Rocket sales Corporation starts doing well enough to make a serious dent into sales of AYS.

Puri, the boss at AYS, discovers the identity of the people at Rocket Sales Corporation and files a police case against them. Harpreet agrees to sell his business to AYS as a deal to drop the charges. Puri is pleased to acquire the successful business rival, but he soon learns that he can't match the service and quality Harpreet's team was giving to the customers. One by one, customers of Rocket Sales Corporation desert AYS.

In the final denouement Puri has a change of heart and accepts defeat. Harpreet and his friends get their business back. Along the way love blossoms between Harpreet and Sherena, who happened to be his first customer.

Wake Up Sid!

Wake Up Sid! is a forthcoming Hindi romantic comedy film that stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. Produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions , distributed by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by debutante Ayan Mukherji, who earlier was assistant director of Ashutosh Gowariker in Swades and Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. This is the story of Sid (Ranbir Kapoor), a lazy, unmotivated slacker from Mumbai whose life undergoes a series of changes after taking his final year college exams. Sid's world is breezy, carefree, and without any true responsibilities. The most important elements in his life are his friends, his camera, his car, and his ps3.

Sid thrives around his two best friends, Naved (Namit Das) and Nikki(Shikha Talsania), very rarely communicates with his mother Sarita (Supriya Pathak) and takes his father Ram Mehra (Anupam Kher), and all his hard earned wealth for granted. Despite all these traits, Sid is an honest boy; sweet, funny, and above all, a good friend. As Ibtisam sets up her life in malaysia, with the help of Sid and his gang, Sid allows for time to fly by over long drives, parties that stretch well into dawn, and endless hours doing absolutely nothing. But summer comes along and leaves Sid's life completely changed. A series of circumstances and events compels him to take stock of his life and take a hard look at himself. Will he, at some point, figure out what he's supposed to be doing with his life?

With Hirani's expertise this one shouldn't turn out into some Hello , a tacky adaptation of Bhagat's second novel which was way too filmi and formulaic as compared to his much interesting first.
